X marks the spot for the reopening of Moreton Bay’s Treasure Markets: Tuesday 16 June 2020.

Both the Caboolture and Dakabin markets will reopen from 10am in-line with the Queensland Government’s COVID-19 roadmap to easing restrictions.

Moreton Bay Region Mayor Peter Flannery said while only 20 people will be allowed inside at a time, it’s exciting to see the hugely popular treasure markets reopening to the public.

“It’s no secret the Treasure Markets are a local favorite, so we’re glad residents will be able to pick up pre-loved items at bargain prices once again,” he said.

“Customers will be allowed to browse and purchase goods for up to 20 minutes, with purchases limited to five items per customer.

“From household furniture and spare parts, to quirky collectables and books, there’s endless items ready to be yours.

“The facilities will reopen with a COVID-19 Safe Business Plan for Stage 2 to ensure social distancing requirements are in place.

“There will also be increased cleaning at the facilities and hand sanitiser stations for customers, among other hygiene measures in their COVID-19 Safe Plan.

“We want to see people reusing, repurposing and recycling as much as possible, and we’re proud that the Moreton Bay community strongly embraces this message.

“I encourage all residents who are feeling safe and healthy, to take a trip to the markets to see what trinkets you can find.

“As they say: one person’s trash, is another person’s treasure!”

The Treasure Markets will be open 10am-2pm Tuesday to Sunday.
