It’s the one-stop-shop for all government grants and funding opportunities that will make finding grants a breeze for local community groups, businesses and clubs.

Moreton Bay Regional Council today voted to subscribe to GrantGuru, Australia’s most comprehensive grants database.

Mayor Peter Flannery said the unanimous vote from Council is another step towards recovery for our region.

“We’ve heard loud and clear from the community that funding opportunities have become even more critical to keep businesses and groups going,” he said.

“That’s why Council has invested more than $8 million into local sporting clubs and community groups since the start of COVID-19.

“The next step is helping local businesses and groups spend less time looking for grants and more time doing what they love: supporting our community.”

Director of Regional Development Australia (RDA) Moreton Bay, Nette Griggs, said making GrantGuru available to organisations across Moreton Bay is a fantastic investment.

“The most common question RDA Moreton Bay receives is ‘How can I get a grant?’ so there’s a very clear need for funding opportunities,” she said.

“Unfortunately, the time take to research, find a suitable grant and apply can sometimes outweigh the benefits of receiving a grant.

“This decision from Council to make grants easier to access shows genuine support and partnership with industry and I hope to see more grant funds finding their way in to Moreton Bay.”

Mayor Flannery said the database will include all Council grants and funding opportunities from more than 1,400 other organisations.

“GrantGuru collects grants across all levels of government, corporate funding and philanthropic groups,” he said.

“It also includes rebates, concessions, awards and scholarship funding opportunities so you’re bound to find something to suit your club or business.

“The new database is expected to go live on Council’s website early next year, so keep an eye online and follow us on social media for all the latest updates.
