The centrepiece of Caboolture’s CBD will be upgraded over summer, ready for an invigorated events calendar in 2021.
Moreton Bay Region Mayor Peter Flannery said the $370,000 upgrade to The Caboolture Hub would attract both business and creative minds.
“These renovations will create an inviting and sophisticated entrance to the art gallery and library within The Hub precinct,” Mayor Flannery said.
“We’ll also improve security throughout the building, create a new gallery shop and extend the library workroom for staff.
“To complete these works, the gallery will be temporarily closed from 8 February to 16 April 2021.
“But when that space reopens, locals and visitors alike will be welcomed back with a line-up of new events, exhibitions and workshops.”
Councillor Adam Hain (Div 3) said The Hub is a celebration of local arts and culture, and the renovations are an important investment in community vibrancy.
“Caboolture is already one of the fastest growing regions in Queensland and once Caboolture West comes online this place will be pumping,” he said.
“So investment in our public spaces is critical, especially The Hub where you’re able to do everything from reading, researching and viewing art, through to hosting major business events.
“I’m excited to see how these upgrades take The Hub precinct to a new level.
“The library will remain open throughout the renos, and we thank residents for their patience whilst these works are happening.”
Construction is scheduled to commence in December 2020 and be completed by April 2021, weather depending.
