If you love Bee Gees Way, then Christmas has come early! New songs, new light features and never seen interviews with Barry Gibb have been added to the attraction as part of a $244,000 upgrade.

Mayor Peter Flannery said Council had even delivered on a special request from local fans – adding the mega hit Night Fever into the evening program mix starting Monday 23 November.

“We’ve also added the Bee Gees classic single Run To Me, but I can promise you there’s no way you can walk past with Night Fever playing without being tempted to boogie,” he said.

“Today’s opening is setting up our region for a summer party season, which is exactly what we need after this unusual and difficult year.

“So far we’re the only place in South East Queensland where you’ll be able to see New Years fireworks, we’re going to have Christmas Carols events every weekend up until Christmas starting in Caboolture this weekend and we’re even opening a free public water park in Petrie next month to help keep the kids cool.

“We’ve also permanently installed accessible beach matting at Woorim Beach and Suttons Beach to ensure everyone can enjoy a day on the sand.

“There really is something for everyone in Moreton Bay Region, but for disco fans the best place to be is Redcliffe.

“We’ve also release a series of new, unseen interviews with Barry Gibb covering a range of topics.

“Barry will take you back to his school days in Redcliffe, talk about his Australian music influences such as the legendary Johnny O’Keefe, stories from the Bee Gees’ first American tour and more.

“Council staff and the team at Pro Av Solutions have done a fantastic job getting this project up to speed in time for the holiday season so everyone can come check out the show.

“We’ve replaced old AV and video equipment, faulty lights and pavement signage, as well as repainted the wall behind the artwork, and spruced up the garden.

“Bee Gees Way has been entertaining thousands of tourists at Redcliffe for the past five years and this facelift will keep the slice of history up to date, and I want to thank ABC Radio for coming out this morning to kick-off the celebrations.”
