Caboolture’s road network is about to undergo a massive $1.92 million upgrade, with Moreton Bay Regional Council awarding the Brown Street Corridor contract today.

Councillor Adam Hain (Div 3) said these highly-anticipated works will improve traffic flow in the booming area, north of Caboolture’s CBD.

“The area has a number of recent developments, including a shopping centre, school and housing developments”, he said.

“The much-needed upgrade will cater for the current and future demand of the area.

“Roads connect us, bring communities together, support growth and economic development.

“So it’s crucial that the reliability of our road networks keep pace with population growth.

“The project involves construction of a new road running south from Ardrossan Road to Elof Road and a new roundabout at the intersection of Elof Road and Cassowary Court.

“Once completed, the Brown Street Corridor will run from Ardrossan Road to Pettigrew Street in Caboolture.

“Active travel was incorporated with the inclusion of on-road cycle lanes and shared pathways along the length of the new corridor.

“These works follow the successful delivery of a new $8 million intersection where Pumicestone Road, Cottrill Road and Ardrossan Road meet.

“The combined effect of these works will create a streamlined transport connection from Pumicestone Road to the Caboolture Hospital, that will shave several minutes off travel times for Ambulance services and commuters alike.

“We thank everyone for their patience while these works are being undertaken.”

The $1.92m tender was awarded to CES Civil CEQ Pty Ltd and is expected to commence in March 2020 and take six months to complete.
