The Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) has confirmed it’s no longer investigating Moreton Bay Regional Council.
The CCC confirmed in a letter that the CCC is not investigating any matters relating to the Council.
Acting Mayor Mike Charlton said it was welcome news for residents and ratepayers.
“This is confirmation to locals that Council and Council staff have been acting in their interests without impropriety,” he said.
“Council is committed to ensuring the public can have confidence and trust in the functions of local government.
“While there are two matters that remain before the courts, these relate to individuals, not Moreton Bay Regional Council.
“I want to thank the CCC for their diligence in not only acting on the complaints they had received, but also acting to confirm that MBRC is not under investigation.
“This is a matter of public interest and this certainty will not only be welcomed by locals, but businesses and prospective investors as well.”
