It’s time to get online and register your Clean Up Australia site across Moreton Bay Region before it’s too late.
Mayor Peter Flannery said with less than a month until Sunday 7 March, now is the time to register your event or sign up to an existing clean up.
“This event is always really well supported by our amazing community, in fact we’ve already had more than 50 clean up sites registered across our region,” he said.
“I think it’s a celebration of the Australian spirit, I love seeing our communities come together and the pride locals take in caring for Moreton Bay.
“Council’s goal is to make Moreton Bay Region the most liveable place in all of South East Queensland and we definitely take inspiration from initiatives like this.
“Don’t leave it too late though because it can take up to two weeks to receive your clean up kit from the organisers – or you can always tag along one of the many existing clean ups.
“Council is also providing a small amount of funding for each clean-up to buy soft drinks and refreshments to keep our cleaners hydrated throughout the day.
“Please remember to stay safe while you’re out and about cleaning and make sure you’ve got adequate protection from the elements.”
