Forget borrowing your mate’s ute to clean-up your yard this summer, you can get Council to do it with just a click of a button.

Council’s online bulky waste collection service will come straight to your front door to remove anything from an old washing machine and green waste, to the Christmas leftovers.

Waste Spokesperson Councillor Adam Hain encouraged Moreton Bay residents to take advantage of this on-request service.

“Summer may be in full swing but that doesn’t mean it’s too late to clean up and prepare for storm season,” he said.

“Council’s bulky waste collection service is a paid on-demand service that helps residents remove large items from their home that don’t fit into their standard wheelie bin.

“From old household appliances to overgrown backyard vegetation, residents who are time poor or unable to transport these large materials to a waste management facility will find this option quick and convenient.

“Collection fees start from $45 for a cubic metre of green waste, including garden vegetation and tree branches, and $70 for a cubic metre of household items such as electronics, furniture and clothes.”

Locals can book the service one day in advance via an easy online process that checks eligibility and calculated costs as well as instructions on how to prepare your items.

“Start your new year fresh with a new outlook by giving your property a good clean up,” Cr Hain said.

“The school holidays are a great time for families to spring clean their homes and get ready for the year ahead.

“This service is for residential properties only with collected items taken to the resource recovery area for recycling or resale at the Council’s treasure markets.”

Moreton Bay residents can check eligibility and book a collection online today.
