Start preparing your homemade Easter hats now, because the best bonnets in town will all be on display at the first Murrumba Downs Easter Fiesta.

Mayor Peter Flannery said John Oxley Reserve will come alive as the ultimate day out for kids under 5 years old from 10am – 2pm on Friday 26 March.

“I don’t know whether parents or kids are more excited about the return of events in 2021, but I know this is an event not to be missed,” he said.

“From amusement rides and dance performances to a sensory zone and soft play area, there’s something for everyone.

“There’ll even be a petting zoo, giving you the chance to cuddle a baby chicken.

“Families are encouraged to make a day of it and enjoy the delicious food on offer or bring your own packed picnic and blanket to stretch out on the grass.

“Don’t forget to visit the information tent to receive your Easter scavenger hunt sheet.

“Find the special Easter themed signs around the site, then hand your completed sheet to claim a delicious treat.”

Deputy Mayor Denise Sims said this event was part of an awesome line-up of events across the region this year.

“Kids won’t be able to count the array of free activities, even if they use all their fingers,” she said.

“Events like this help build strong and connected communities, something we have come to value since the coronavirus changed our lives.

“While we’re all working to get life back to normal community safety continues to be our priority, so this event has been carefully planned to ensure it complies with coronavirus restrictions.”
