It’s never been more important for locals to support local businesses by shopping in Moreton Bay Region with the State Government fast-tracking its Roadmap to Easing Restrictions.

Gyms, cafes, restaurants, real estate open homes, beauty therapists and more can now open their doors to 20 people, and more with a COVID SAFE Plan.

Mayor Peter Flannery welcomed Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk’s decision to bring forward Stage 2 of the roadmap.

“Our businesses have shown an amazing amount of resilience during COVID-19 restrictions, but now it’s time to get back to some kind of normality,” Mayor Flannery said.

“The easing of restrictions means more businesses can start reopening or getting back to how they were trading before social distancing regulations were enforced.

“It’s vitally important that, we as Moreton Bay residents, get out of our homes and start spending money locally again to support businesses and the thousands of people they employ.

“Our businesses have done it really tough to get this far, so it’s high time we pitched in gave them some relief where we can.

“Social distancing measures are still strictly in place, and if we are to continue easing restrictions we must keep up the good work we’ve displayed so far.

“That means practising good personal hygiene, keeping 1.5 metres apart, staying home if you feel unwell and generally respecting one another.

“Easing of restrictions won’t work unless everyone buys in, so let’s get #MoretonBayTough and support each other on the road to recovery.”
