A standout year for Solar Bollard Lighting has seen the company clean up at the 2019 Moreton Bay Region Business Excellence & Innovation Awards, taking home four awards including the major category.
In an exciting and memorable evening, the Brendale-based company was awarded the RDA Moreton Bay Exporting Excellence Award, Australian Coastal and Marine Ecology Environment & Sustainability Award, and Akyra Employee of the Year (Trent Arieni) before being announced as the Moreton Bay Regional Council Business of the Year.
A total of 14 awards were presented at a sold-out gala event hosted at Eatons Hill Hotel on Friday 29th November. 460 guests celebrated with the finalists and winners, including major award category winners Metromatics – Innovate Moreton Bay Innovation Excellence Award, and Intercept Youth and Family Services – SRJ Walker Wayland Community Group of the Year and the Moreton Bay Regional Council Business of the Year.
Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT) CEO, Shane Newcombe said the awards once again proved the quality of businesses that operate in the Moreton Bay Region.
“It’s thanks to businesses such as those featured in these awards that our region boasts one of Queensland’s fastest growing economies,” said Mr Newcombe.
“I commend and congratulate all nominees, finalists and winners on all their hard work over the past year and wish them the very best in their continued growth and success.”
Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Allan Sutherland said he was impressed by the strength of this year’s applicants.
“Our local businesses are such an important part of our region’s growing economy and it is great to be able to recognise the outstanding talent we have within our local business sector,” Cr Sutherland said. “I want to thank our business owners and their employers for their professionalism in delivering quality and innovative services that have helped our local economy boom to more that $18.5 billion. “Council is proud to support these awards which acknowledge the businesses who support our community.”
