Whether you’re a creative sort or love your sport, Moreton Bay Regional Council’s got a plan to make 2020 a bit more fun for you.
Both The Redcliffe Pottery Group and Pine Rivers Junior League Club were today granted $1 per annum peppercorn leases so they can continue their great service to our community with next to no rental costs on Council facilities.
Mayor Peter Flannery said these leases will provide those groups with certainty and security for the next five years, during tough times.
“Lockdown taught us the importance of staying active, being creative, and keeping social,” Mayor Flannery said.
“So it was a no brainer to renew these leases, it’s an easy and practical way for Council to help locals continue doing the activities they love and give them a creative or athletic outlet.
“Council has literally hundreds of peppercorn leases that we provide to community groups and clubs to take the financial burden off operating costs.
“That way they can spend less time fundraising and more time developing programs for their members to enjoy.
“Pine Rivers Junior Rugby League Club will be especially happy to know the renewed lease will include new changerooms, which will soon be built.
“The Redcliffe potters will also receive and increased lease area of 43m2 with the inclusion of amenities.”
