Record-breaking roads works in Caboolture Industrial Estate

Wheels are set to roll on the biggest road resurfacing project in Moreton Bay Regional Council’s 2020-21 Budget.

A massive $1.5 million in works get underway tomorrow at the Caboolture Industrial Estate to repair and resurface 1.6 kilometres of road.

Mayor Peter Flannery said crews would work through the night and on weekends to have the job done within two weeks, minimising the impacts on local businesses and residents.

“This project is more than just laying out asphalt, it’s about future-proofing this industrial precinct to ensure the 176 local businesses and those in the surrounding area remain connected and operate with confidence,” he said.

“It sends a clear message to potential investors that Council is committed to supporting industrial and manufactural growth for new and existing businesses in Moreton Bay.

“Best of all, the project is also backing local business, with Narangba-based company Fulton Hogan delivering the works which will support more than 80 local jobs.

“This project is Council’s single largest financial investment in road resurfacing this financial year, in fact we’ll be laying more asphalt tonnes per 12hr shift than Council has ever delivered.”

The two week program of works (weather dependent) will be undertaken along the entire lengths of:

• Piper Street
• Auster Court
• Skyreach Street
• Cessna Drive

Mayor Flannery urged motorists to drive to the conditions within the project site.

“Crews will work across 36-hour weekend shifts and night works to help minimise impacts on local businesses and residents,” he said.

“Signage has been placed to alert motorists of the changes to local traffic conditions and we thank local residents, businesses and staff for the patience while we undertake this vital work.

“Investing in our industrial precincts is investing in economic growth, local jobs, and business attraction for our region.

“This industrial precinct is one of many across Moreton Bay and it’s vital we support the businesses who deliver so much for our local economy.”
