Moreton Bay Regional Council will upgrade the much loved Bee Gees Way Audio, Visual and Lighting infrastructure at Bee Gees Way.

Mayor Peter Flannery said the technology installed over five years ago has stood the test of time well outdoors, exposed to salty sea breezes and the elements.

“There’s no questioning the immortality of this major tourism drawcard on the Peninsula, but these works are essential to ensure no one questions How Deep Is Our Love for the Bee Gees,” he said.

“Delivery of this $244,000 contract will be undertaken after the September school holiday period and completed before the annual Christmas rush, to get tourists and locals Jive Talkin.”

Councillor for Division 6 Karl Winchester said he was thrilled to be able to continue the legacy the Bee Gees have left to this unique part of the Moreton Bay Region.

“The Bee Gees hold a special place in the hearts of many in Redcliffe and it is a priority of Council to ensure these local heroes are continued to be remembered for their important contribution to the arts and entertainment industry,” Cr Winchester said.

“The team at Pro Av Solutions did the initial audiovisual installation and have done a great job of maintaining it over the past five years, so I know they’ll deliver again to keep this attraction Stayin’ Alive.”
